Prince Of Peace Word Fellowship Church drama department recently held our Black History program finale on Sunday, February 28th. The overall theme of the program was The Importance of Religion in Black History. Everyone enjoyed the ride back in history and celebrated those freedoms that we have as a result of the heroic acts by those that fought before us. The children re-enacted Rosa Parks' journey on a bus made of cardboard that enabled us to sit where we want to on any bus today. Journeyed from slavery to freedom with Harriet Tubman on railroad tracks made of tree branches. Enjoyed a skit that led to equal educational opportunities as a result of Brown vs Board of education. There was a full courtroom with Kelvon Gardner as presiding judge, a full jury, Plantiff played by Shantwilissia Cooks, the Defendant was C' Mya Shelton, court reporter played by Lazaria Brock and the court police officer was Madyson Wilson. Also included was asurprise tribute to the vision that Sister Tiffany Nolden has that's associated with her passion working with children. Music was played that slaves listened to in their era and more importantly showed how we invited God to bless us with His presence upon us. We appreciate how He worked things out in our favor by granting us so many freedoms that we are blessed to enjoy today.
