21-Day Fast: Don't Worry, Just Trust, Commit and Wait on the Lord (Psalm 37:1-8)
Dates: January 2 - January 22, 2024
Theme: Don't Worry, Just Trust, Commit and Wait on the Lord As we enter the new year, let's cultivate unwavering faith and surrender to God's plan. This 21-day fast will be a dedicated time to trust, commit, and wait on the Lord, just as Psalm 37:1-8 instructs. We will pray diligently, examine ourselves honestly, and intercede for others with the promise of Psalm 127:1, "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain."
Daily Inspiration:
Daily Verse Focus:
We will meditate on Psalm 37:1-8 throughout the fast, learning from its wisdom and allowing it to shape our prayers.
Weekly Prayer Points:
Week 1: (Fast from bread) Praying for Church Growth: Based on Psalm 127:1, we will dedicate this week to fervent prayer for our church to flourish and be a beacon of God's light in the community.
Week 2: (Fast from meat) Closer Examination of Self: Inspired by Psalms 139:23-24, we will spend this week seeking God's guidance, asking Him to expose areas needing refinement and transformation.
Week 3: (Fast from sweets) Praying for Salvation for the Lost: With 2 Peter 3:9 guiding our hearts, we will intercede for the unsaved, pleading for their hearts to open to God's love and grace.
During this fast, we give up bread in week 1, meat in week 2, and sweets in week 3. Remember to spend time praying and reading the bible every day.
If you can't do the whole fast as outlined, choose something to give up for the 21 days and join us in prayer and fasting.
Allow the spirit to lead you during this time of fasting and prayer. Look for opportunities to serve or bless others. Help those in need and ask God to reveal ways you can reconnect with Him as you disconnect from some of the things that take time, energy, and resources away from focusing and growing more spiritually. Find peace and purpose as you begin the year.
